Be the right you for the audience
Client: Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei
2013 was a big year for Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei.
The settlement process was completed and the organisation restructured into three entities: Whai Rawa, the commercial arm; Whai Maia, the community arm; and the Trust, the overarching custodian of the people’s interests today and for generations to come.
We were tasked to prepare their first annual reports under the new structure. Our challenge was to articulate what each of the entities stood for, to the distinctive audiences each one talked to, while representing the hapu’s unified story across all touch-points. Working with SenateSHJ, our approach was to use a common messaging and design platform across all three and to capture the uniqueness of each entity through colour, photography and tone of voice.
The outcome: three documents, three websites, one great story about the many faces of Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei.
